John had scurried out of Rory's room before Aeryn. Not because he didn't want to see her but because he'd wanted to prepare the room.

He lights one candle, hides the remote, puts on his best bleach stain shirt and...tapes his mouth shut.

Aeryn doesn't even think to go back to 209. Instead she goes to John's room, and as soon as she's inside, she stops, frowning at him.

John grins but you can't really see it behind the tape.

Instead, he holds up a sign.

That gets the first genuine smile out of her in about a week. "Am I supposed to answer, if there's no talking?" she wonders.

That smiles makes him grin again. He erases the first words and writes again before holding up the sign.
