A whole lot of new releases this week! And yet, Mr.Children still managed to shave off his rivals and so poor GLAY not getting no.1 this time around! Meanwhile, Ayu finally pushed Namie down with her latest BEST album, but Namie is currently selling more than 1 million and is at no.3 for Yearly Albums ranking. By the way, J-Rockers ruled last week! XDD
And now, for the selected songs of the week and there are a lot!
"Aka to Kuro MATADORA" by GLAY - This is a gem. It's a wonderful piece and played out brilliantly. :) I think, this is being made as the theme to a Korean movie.
"I LOVE YOU wo Sagashiteru" by GLAY - This is what a grand ballad from GLAY would sound like. Which is why in the world of J-Rock, GLAY's rock ballads are just simply one of the best! XD This is also the theme song to the dorama, Dageki Tenshi Ruri starring Kikukawa Rei.
"Koishikute" by UVERworld - The band did a rock ballad! What??! Oh yeah, it works well and I'm in love with the song! This is totally a delightful surprise!
"Kurage, Nagareboshi" by Ai Otsuka - This is one of her best ballads IMO. It's in the same vein as Planetarium, and as powerful if not more. Pity the sales doesn't reflect how good this one is...
"Tsuzuku Sekai" by Shoko Nakagawa - I actually prefer this type of song from Shokotan, the rock-infused kind that sounds like it just comes straight from an anime...This type of song suits her the most.
"GLASS SKIN" by DIR EN GREY - Another wonderful track from fellow J-Rockers. As I've said, J-Rock totally ruled this time around! :)
"MUSTACHE" by Kaela Kimura - When it comes to perky and fun songs, Kaela is one of the best ones. This song is no exception.
"memories(original version)" by Kaela Kimura - Do you guys know the song "Boku wa Puma" by Hikaru Utada? You know how childishly catchy the song is and how you can get crazy just by listening to it over and over again? Now I've found the challenger, because this one is seriously childishly catchy as hell and I can't get it out of my head!
"How Do I Survive?" by Superfly - This indie hitmaker is keeping it consistently good with this one...
"Okuribito" by AI - A very beautiful song by AI, and also the theme song to the movie, Okuribito.
"So Special -Version AI-" by AI - Another good one from the single...
"Kaze no Tegami" by alan - This girl comes highly recommended by J-Pop lovers. I figured, she's not too shabby at all...
"Virgin Cat" by Anna Tsuchiya - I haven't heard from this rocker chick for quite some time. This is a mediocre effort at best though...
