Just found out that the word "Woot" was used in Chaucer's Canterbury tales. Weird, huh?
But specifically, it was a predecessor to the word "know."
Does anyone know the etymology of the "woot" we use today, or has that been lost among the forums of iniquity?
Anyways, here's the link (forgive me, I've forgotten how to format it all nice and spiffy so that the massive text doesn't appear, and just some random word/phrase of my choosing)
Anyway, it's page 83, towards the bottom.
