Script page pic from JE - Season Finale (SPOILERS)

So a couple of people on my Twitter feed retweeted this pic from Jeff Eastin, which they somehow missed when he originally posted it.  The caption is, "Doing my favorite thing - writing by the fire pit in my back yard with my dog next to me. Working on #WhiteCollar season finale."

Unlike when he actually posts pics designated "script page," the ( Read more... )

"Wouldn't Kramer know about the extra two years?"

This is what it looks like to me. I believe "two" because Neal was given four more years for escaping prison. However, as part of his deal with the FBI, he gets a reduced sentence.

"Judgement Day" sounds rather ominous. This paired with the set visit info I just read from Michele...

Was it reduced? I thought it was four years on anklet as opposed to four in prison.

Also - YES! Kramer's coming back. CONFIRMED. Wheeeeee! (He's going to be the devil, I just know it. This guy is gonna be bad news.)

Well, according to Bomer its a reduced sentence. He's said it many times in television interviews when asked to explain the show or his character. You could probably look up nearly any interview on YouTube. He's never stated how much time Neal would actually spend with the anklet, though. Eastin has, likely, never told him.

I've heard him say this, too, but I'm not sure how literally to take it. In the pilot episode Peter says that they're going to give Neal 4 more years for escaping, and then at the end of the same episode he says that he "owns" Neal for four years. The implication, at least *in that episode* is clearly that it's four years on the anklet as opposed to 4 years in prison (as virgo_79 says). I've always assumed that Matt may be just trying to get across the general concept, rather than providing specific details of Neal's deal. Or maybe he's saying that his time *in prison* has been reduced. IDK. While it's always possible that they've changed the concept somewhat since the pilot, until we actually have in-episode evidence, I'll stick with that.

Huh.
I thought the quote in the pilot from Peter in regard to this was "I own you for the next four years."
Though one could certainly argue that it's reduced in severity, if not duration.

It occurs to me that the "extra two years" note in Eastin's sidebar, may have nothing to do with Neal's sentence. It may, it may not. I, obviously, haven't the slightest idea.

And you're both right, Peter did tell Neal that he owned him for the next four years. But what about those remaining 3 or 4 months from Neal's original sentence?

I'm probably over thinking things, again.

Ok, not to but in, but when Neal escaped and was put back in(Pilot) and offered Peter the deal.. Remember we skipped to the scene where Peter was looking at the Birthday cards from him, and El came down... He told her that he would be getting out "Today" so I'm assuming that we skipped through time from when he escaped, to the week later that Peter visited, then to his original release date! :)

Plus when Neal breaks the light bulb in his cell, he's has just crossed off the last day of his original 4 year sentence. He then moves to another wall to start the tic marks for his next 4 years. Also this is when he ask Bobby if it's midnight = again signaling the end of one sentence and the start of the next 4 years. White Collar timelines are very subtle at times and it takes a few rewatches for my own lightbulb moment!
