Well, I see their love of Photoshop hasn't changed. It baffles me why you would *want* to turn Mr. Photogenic into a creepy doll with alien eyes, but other than that, I do actually like it! Very stylish.
I'm trying to work out how I feel about this. I didn't really like the S1 poster, so I'm not loving this. Although I understand why they stuck with their 'branding', I kinda wished they'd changed to a whole new look (that's what I was hoping for).
And somehow, what with photoshopping and whatnot, they manage to make Bomer look more 'generic good looking guy' than he should do. And they seem to have put him in a kinda ill-fitting suit (unlike the ones he actually wears on the show).
Overall I'd say, better than S1, but I still don't love it.
I never cared for original selection of the aquamarine tie and unnaturally Photoshopped eyes to match Aren't Matt's cerulean blues a much better choice?
The suit's all wrong - the pants look like he's in his dad's clothes and his hands are like doll hands - about 20% too small for the rest of his body.
Agree 1000% re. photoshopping of MB's eyes to match the tie. WTF?
And... the pants look like he's in his dad's clothes Yes! LMAO That's it exactly. And on the show they usually dress him in these perfectly tailored, slim fitting pants to show off his slender build, so WTF? with abandoning that for the poster. Damn.
You know, it looks like they used a manniquin and 'shopped Matt's hands and head onto a wrong-sized body.
Blech.
And you know, I bet if I go into NYC in the next few weeks, I'm going to see this all over the place.
And I just had a very funny thought...they are still filming...and wouldn't it be hysterical if a city bus plastered with WC promotional posters gets in a background shot?
Wouldn't be surprised to see a Royal Pains wrapped bus (spotted several when I was in the city for the Paley event) in a shot or two.
And you know, I bet if I go into NYC in the next few weeks, I'm going to see this all over the place.
Oh, you totally will.
And a WC wrapped bus in the background on WC would be hilarious and awesome.
On a separate but related note, something like this really shows up the limitations of Twitter. They've asked for feedback on the poster there, but it's such a limited method of communication, it doesn't invite any kind of concrit. People either have to go with Love it! (usual Twitter fare) or Meh or Hate it (and no one's gonna go with the latter). *sigh*
Anyhoo, I shall do my best to ignore the grandpa pants going forward. LOL
