Hi everyone!
I hope everyone has been having fun writing. We've been quiet, dealing with real life issues, kittens, and writing our own things. I'm glad to see that nobody really needed us and hoped that nobody minded that we were quiet. We feel, here at
whitecollar_bb, that everyone feels better with just writing on their own and not being poked every month. :)
However, rough draft time is upon us! You have until whenever the art claims post goes up - should be the 16th but might be the 17th around 8 pm Central Time - to get your drafts in. If we do not have a rough draft with a header from you, I cannot say that you will get an artist. You can still do the challenge, but there's a good chance you're not getting art unless you do the art yourself or get a friend to do it. So, until the art post goes up on the 16th, all drafts will be put into the art claims post for artists. After that, you have until August 1st to get a rough draft in and still be considered in the challenge. You just will not recieve art. This way, we get as many stories as possible. If you still need an extension beyond that, please contact us at whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com and we'll see what we can do.
Another thing about rough drafts - you must have at least 7K of written work with an outline your artist can work with until you get them a complete draft. If you have a full and complete draft of work, that's awesome. But if you're struggling and below the 7K, email us and we'll see if we can work something out. Again, it's more about getting as many stories as we can in and having a giant party in September about the awesome work everyone has done.
Now - how to send the rough draft in. You will send it in to whitecollar.bb.mods@gmail.com. You will get a confirmation email back that your draft was recieved. Your draft must be attached to the email or the draft needs to be sent from Google Docs so we can check word counts and that you're ready to have an artist go at your work (okay, more for word count checking than anything else). Please make sure it is the complete draft and not the individual chapters. That just makes our lives easier. :)
In the subject of the email, you must have the following: Rough Draft - User Name - Title of Fic So, for example, the subject of my email would be "Rough Draft - crescent_gaia - Notes and Murder".
In the body of the email, this is what you need to have:
Title (Please note working or final):
Crossover (Y/N and Fandom):
Characters/Pairings:
Rating:
Any Warnings (this includes anything someone would be squicked by and spoilers):
Short Summary:
So, for mine, it would be:
Title (Final): Notes and Murder
Crossover: Castle
Characters/Pairings: Peter/El, Neal/Sara, Neal/Alex, Beckett/Castle
Rating: PG-13
Any Warnings: Spoilers for all of shown White Collar, save for season 4 finale, and all of Castle, save for season 4 finale.
Short Summary: When someone turns up dead with Peter's card in their pocket, two amazing forces come together to find the murderer.
Simple, to the point, and that will make it a lot easier on us when we put up the art claims post. So, if you have any questions, please leave a comment or poke us at the email address that has been shown at least twice in the post.
Happy writing!
