Racism in China and Chinese blonde babies <3
Oh I am so mad . I know China is a racist country, because according to the CNN news, the country is 90% Han Chinese so it is a homogeneous society. (i.e. some Chinese that live in NW China do not look like what you think traditional Chinese look like, some are Muslims, and some look somewhat like SW or SE Asians)
Anyway there is this girl named Lou Jing and she looks different than Han Chinese in China. You see, her mother is Chinese and her dad is African. She doesn't know the identity of her father and is raised by her single mother. She is enrolled in a theatre academy and she went on this American Idol style competition TV program.
She was criticized for her skin color and many nicknamed her "chocolate girl", "black pearl". She was voted off not long ago and she was very disappointed. Many think it was because of her skin color. She commented that she wasn't fully aware of this racist mentality until she was on TV. She doesn't speak English because she was raised in China. When Chinese people came up to her and asked her why she speaks Chinese so well, she had to reply that she's actually a Chinese citizen. (umm ever met someone not of Chinese descent speak perfect Chinese? It's called majoring in Chinese in college and study abroad there or if your parent speaks that language. How ignorant or naive can they be? Why can't you learn other languages? I've met plenty Caucasians speak perfect Chinese (i.e. Caucasian professors in the East Asian department). Oh, and my mom's Jewish Caucasian boss speaks perfect Chinese.
Gosh I know Chinese people in China is racist, I just didn't know that much. Considering that there are many foreigners live in China for business nowadays and what not. Furthermore, this girl is GORGEOUS and BEAUTIFUL. When I was watching this story on CNN, I wasn't even thinking about race, I was thinking about that she is very pretty. I guess that is different for everyone and especially for people in China. (They were probably thinking why is this girl brown ?_?) I can boldly say she is more beautiful than some of the other Han Chinese singing contestants.
I've attached photos what Lou Jing looks like. I wish her best. Frankly, I think she would be happier living in big American cities and possibly in London.

On a lighter note, yes there are Chinese babies that are born with blond hair and blue eyes. Try googling Chinese with blond hair, you'll be surprised what you find. Some are albinos and some are naturally blonde.
