Conversation came like snow in December
Making for the greatest time I remember
But everything fell like used shotgun shells
Next thing I heard was her wedding bells
Word arrived, she was getting married
Despite not knowing the burden it carried
I disappeared like Bush after Katrina
Six months later, I still haven't seen her
What happened sweet words at midnight,
Or her telling me my life would be alright?
They say every event is another test
For me "All Falls Down" like Kanye West
I regret how these horrid hands were dealt
I regret never telling her exactly how I felt
People shout "There's other fish in the sea"
I dumbly reply "But she's the one for me"
I know the importance of that institution
And I'm not returning looking for restitution
Everyday I wish everything would change
Back to what it was before things got strange
Back before I committed those stupid actions
Back when I hadn't become a distraction
Our bond isn't going to be like it was before
I anticipate, wait; she doesn't call here anymore
