A few days ago, I started working on this little idea I had for making a case for my MP3 player. Nothing spectacular or anything, but just something I wanted to do. I've always liked crafting (of all sorts) as its just another way for me to express my artistic side when I'm not in the mood to draw or paint or whatever...
I created this design in PC Stitch...a new program I just got a couple days ago (my early Mom's Day present). Its a really nice program for creating cross-stitch patterns. I'm in the process of stitching it right now, using DMC floss on 14 ct perforated plastic. Its similar to plastic canvas, but has much smaller holes to allow more intricate designs...and provides a fairly sturdy structure for my case. :D
I'll post photos of it when its finished...but here's the basic design I created. The water lily gave me the most trouble but I think I got it looking pretty good. All the backstitching helps it tremendously. :D
