Dirty Pool/One Week To Go...
For those of you in other countries, Australia is in the midst of an election right now.
The current Prime Minister John Howard, a man who has been described as only being useful to show what Harry Potter would look like at the age of 65, has just announced that pentioners will be receving a massive boost in their payments if he is reelected on November 24.
This is a very big insentive for me. I get the DSP (disability support pention) which works out to roughly 178 bucks a week. Under this new plan that would rocket up to 500!!! And even when I find work next year *fingers crossed* I still get that money because I started the pention before it was means tested and therefore it can't be touched.
Dirty little bastard... I was all ready to change my vote... If I was going to be here for the polling day.
In other news, there is only a week to go before I head off for the adventure of a lifetime to see my beloved eratess Getting really nervis now but that is to be expected.
Of corse, with a week to go something had to go wrong. This time it is my Mobile. The toggle isn't working when I press it down. I can fix it by jamming the toggle switch down for a minute but that isn't going to last for long. I have to call the place where I got the voice program for the phone and see if I can come in and get the program loaded onto my Mum's old phone of the same model. Should be doable but I am cutting it way too close for my liking.
