The fourth dimension is tricky. Time. Its a hard concept to wrap your head around, perceiving it the way it actually is.

Imagine a point in space. You can't tell anything about it. It just is. Not even its position is obvious. Thats Dimension 0.

Add another point however and you can see where the points are in relation to one another. A line between them gives them a length. Boom, first dimension.

That same line exists still. Another line branches off that first line. Now we have some width. Boom, second dimension. But we're still a dimension away from us. The 3rd. What are we missing?

Depth.

But here is where it starts to get kinda tricky. Those lines, the first and second dimensions, those were pretty easy. The third dimension isn't a point, or a line.... but a fold. With depth we can fold that second branching line into that first line, using depth. That way an object on that line could conceivably move from the first to the second dimension. Hard to grasp fully. But i i think you have an idea.

Now that fourth dimension.... whew its a tough one. At least in my opinion.

So we have, length, width and depth. The fourth dimension is basically duration. In the fourth dimension time is ever flowing, backwards and forwards. Forever. You could see yourself in the past in an embryonic state and also down the line at your funeral. And every single space in between. The fourth dimension is another line. But, as we are third dimensional beings.... we can only see ourselves in the exact moment we are in. We can not go back and forth as we please, here in the third dimension, through time.

I'm trying to think past the fourth but its hard to.
