Good thing: Following through on my determination to take a Sunday walk at long last - despite the howling wind, the rain, the mud... it was fantastic. I got soaked through, but felt more refreshed than I have in ages. And the sound of rain against the single line of electical wires crossing the fields - strange, but I love it.

Bad thing: Stupid council tax bullshit that doesn't bear explaining apart from the bottom line of being substantially worse-off financially than I was before. At this rate, I'll likely leave this teaching gig the same way I came into it - piss poor and two stone lighter. It'd be nice to have a life transition that wasn't marked by desperation or poverty, eh?

Stupid thing: Deciding to watch a full episode of Gray's Anatomy - five's running it again and I keep being told I should give it a try because I watch House (well, as much as I can from the UK). What a bad recommendation that was. How my love of a brilliant-yet-brutally honest asshole doctor is meant to translate into love of a simpering princess with weird eyebrows who plays doctor when she's not looking wistfully in-love is beyond me. Ahem. Here ends the rant.

Expecting news on my PhD application in eleven days and counting. Will persist in finding anything to fill the time between now and then.
