10th floor;; morning

Sugar awoke, in a cold and lonely bed; startled, she rolled out of bed and searched the whole entire floor for any signs of Ryn and there was none. She asked Walter where he thought she might be, he shrugged and offered to get her tea and a muffin. That was one of the first nights shes spent alone in their apartment and she was grief stricken, so

Ryn came into the apartment quietly, after hearing from Walter that Shush had declined food Ryn swallowed hard. Her guilt threatning to consume her. Walking into their bedroom she stood for a long time in the doorway watching Shush lay there.

Groaning, Sugar stretched catlike in the bed. She didn't even realize that Ryn was there or she would've sprung out of the bed and tackled her.

"Hi." Ryn said in a soft voice.

She gasped and jolted up right in the bed, her hand on her chest as she breathed deeply, "Ryn!" she crawled off the bed, wrapping her arms around the woman, "Where have you been? I've missed you." she pouted, not sure what to think really.

Ryn hestitated and then she pulled Shush tightly into her embrace for a moment, she slowly let her go and then stared into her eyes. "I was in my office all night." Ryn said not able to look at Shush and swallowing hard. "I-" She took a deep breath. "I need to talk to you." She said now looking up at her. "Before we start our life together...we need to talk."

Sugar's eyebrows knotted in confusion as she looked up at her lover, "Why? Did I do something wrong?" but she followed Ryn anyways, if she said they needed to talk, they needed to talk.

Ryn led Shush to the bed and laid back onto it, pulling Shush into her arms she encircled her. Taking a deep sigh she breathed Shush's scent in. "I love you." She whispered. "And I am sorry."

Worried now, her flakey hands started to shake, "Why?" her voice weak, she didn't want to know if her worst suspicions were true, she didn't.

Ryn leaned over to the night stand and got some lotion out, she rubbed it gently into Shush's hands. "I did something last night." Ryn swallowed rubbing her hands harder. "To get back at Crowley." She said still rubbing, tears pooling into her eyes. "I-I was so angry, because after he knew you were mine. He took you anyway." Tears started to slip down Ryn's face. "So I took something of his." She said in a fierce whisper.

She gulped as she spread the lotion on her hands, trying to remember to breathe, that might be helpful, "What? You..you slept with someone?" tears welling her eyes, her bottom lip quivering, shoulders dropping.

"No." Ryn said looking up at Shush. "No. It wasn't like that." She shook her head. "I-" Ryn hung her head now, her own hands started to tremble now. "I'm not what you think I am." Ryn breathed. "What I did, to her it wasn't..." Ryn shook her head again trying to find the words. "I did what I could never do to you." Ryn said looking up at her now. "What I won't allow myself to do."

Sugar sat up in the bed, moving slightly away from Ryn, she wrung her hands infront of her as she felt her face become wet with almost foreign tears.

This didn't seem real.

She stood and paced, then turned to Ryn, her face broken, "Are you evil? Are you a demon? Anything like that?" bottom lip quivering.

Ryn looked up at her, her nod was almost imperceptible. "I was human." She said in a voice that sounded nothing like her usual calm self, it was heavily accented now as she grew more nervous. "A long time ago." She said. Her eyes were wide with fear as she swallowed. "The same as Walter."

Shaking, she touched Ryn's shoulder rather feebly, "What happened?" it was like all those books she'd read when she was younger. So cryptic.

Ryn was surprised by Shush not fleeing from the house in terror, she reached up and touched Shush's hand, entwining her fingers into it.

"My grandmother, she was...an evil woman to put it lightly. I fell in love with someone." Ryn said, looking down at her hand with Shush's. "She had promised me, to another you understand. I refused and I went to my love that night and gave myself to him. I was damaged property then you see? Not fit to be married only fit to be a peasants whore."

Ryn trembled at the memory of Akasha's fury, "We tried to run away, hide ourselves among the people but she found me." Ryn swallowed "My blood you understand, betrayed me. She turned me into what she had become, forcing me to watch as my lover grew old and died while I stayed young, never aging, never dying. But he died." Ryn whispered.

Breathing deeply, she brought her hand to her the bridge of her nose as she developed a headache, her eyes still leaking tears, "So, you're...an immortal?" a sigh, hands dropping to her sides. Well, that didn't bother her too much, it didn't mean that Ryn was evil, right?
