Help protect the women in our military
We speak often here of supporting our Pagan soldiers. But did you know
that last year over 2,800 women in the military reported that they had
been sexually assaulted by their fellow-soldiers? And since reporting
that you've been raped can adversely affect your career, we have to
assume that this is just the tip of the iceberg. For the same reason,
and because such assaults often happen off-base, military women more
often than not wind up being treated in civilian hospitals. But TRICARE,
the organization that manages military health care, will only cover the
cost of a rape kit if it's administered in a TRICARE facility! We're
talking hundreds of dollars.
