This is VERY Important - Is Contraception Abortion?

Aug 14, 2008 11:55

For many of you reading this, I'm sure you received the emailed call to action from either MoveOn.org or Planned Parenthood about Contraception being grouped in with Abortion.

After a bit of research, I found this article and the HHS director's blog at: http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSN0734863820080807
http://www.hhs.gov/news/press/2008pres/03/20080314a.html

While the information seems a little off from what is being said by the PACs, it is disturbing none-the-less. I think the PACs are making it inflammatory for a reason, to get people to act!

I, for one, do not want doctors to have the ability to just not tell someone they have other options when they are available, based on that doctor's beliefs. I think the doctors should refer a patient out to someone who can help them, and do so in a timely manner. To me, that does not seem unreasonable to ask, even of someone who does not hold my belief system.

Therefore, I would like you to take a look at this. Not only at what the PAC is saying, but what the director of Health and Human Services is saying. Keep in mind that he is a Presidential Cabinet Member. I think that position is very important when I look at this issue.

Many Blessings to you and yours.
Fighting the good fight,
Angelia Steele
