I haven't written for awhile because I just don't know what to say. I'm so appalled by how the government is reacting (NOT reacting) to the NOLA/MS/AL situation; its hard for me to deal with.
Kurt Vonnegut wrote in a recent essay that he had no hope for the general future of this country, of this world. What he has hope in is the individual's ability to help one another through this situation -- through these dark times, which seem to be getting darker. Perhaps there is hope in that . . . we have to hold on to something.
