[hope you have time for a derp and his friendly yellow mouse. hanging onto Red's shoulder, Pikachu gazes down at Himeno curiously.]

[Himeno looks up, the kendama ball falling to the side. She takes a second to register what she's seeing and...]

It's a Pikachu!!!! [She's now up on her feet and pointing wildly at the little guy.]

[WOAH NOT SO LOUD, MAN. Pikachu squeaks out a startled Pika! and falls backwards, right off Red's shoulder and into the open flaps of his backpack. its human counterpart nearly stumbles backwards, too.

so much for depression.]

-I-I could've told you that!

[Distractions are a wonderful thing~

Himeno steps a little closer to get a better look at Pikachu.]

B-but...he's real!

[Pikachu's tail shakes back and forth and its hind legs wiggle as it tries to work itself into an upright position. Red takes his backpack off and crouches, plucking the out-of-sorts Pokemon out.]

It's just that they really are only video game and anime characters!

Not where I'm from. [squirming in Red's arms, Pikachu looks up at Himeno and turns its nose up at her. it's official: you've been blacklisted by a rat.]

[Well she certainly didn't want that! He's cute, dangit!]

Ah...did I make him angry?

[SIGHS. he looks down at Pikachu who's staring off at a particularly interesting spot on the sidewalk. he snaps his fingers in its direction and the mouse hastily turns its head in the opposite direction, huffy.]

...You got any ketchup?

[white_pretear]

...Ketchup? Why?

[hispalette]

You want to get on his good side, don't you?

[when in doubt, resort to bribery.]

He likes ketchup?

Yeah. I'd suggest Pokefood, too, but the stores aren't stocked with any.

[white_pretear]

Okay, hold on then!

[She dashes inside only to return a few minutes later with a plate with a decent sized blob of ketchup on it. She tentatively holds the plate up to Pikachu.]

Here you go little guy. I'm sorry if I scared you.

[Pikachu's ears perk up and it sniffs the air.]

"...Pi!"

[it squirms and fidgets in Red's arms, making him move closer until Pikachu's face is level with the plate. it starts lapping up the ketchup without hesitation. all of that takes less than ten seconds.

when it finishes with red smears caked around its mouth, it lets out another happy Pi! at Himeno.]

[Himeno smiles and laughs a bit.]
