I Haven't Died, In Case You Were Wondering...

But I have in fact been a LONG way from home. Still am in fact. I got a job that's actually in my field of study (music, well the job is in theatre so it's not so much the same field as an adjoining field) but it happens to be on a cruise ship. So in the past four months I have been cruising around the Caribbean (no Jack Sparrow, which is a shame) and now Europe. Yes, I know, I'm lucky! Although if you saw the size of the room (which I actually have to share with another human being, only spoiled child that I am) and the granny pants I have to wear as part of my uniform, you might damper your envy. So, lots of new and interesting experiences, but not so much writing...

So I am alive and relatively well (slightly seasick at the moment) and should be back to writing in a few months. And would you look at that, livejournal is giving me local time, not Canadian time! It kind of freaks me out that this program knows where I am...

My father's legendary memory also contributes to my weird mood. He got a phone call at my place from Royal Caribbean International (the company I work for, who should know full well I am NOT at home) saying they currently have an opening as a Sound Tech, which is my dream. He had to explain to them that I already work for them as a Stage Staff (if you're wondering, that's the poor idiot in charge of heavy lifting in the theatre and around the ship as I have experienced)... I told my supervisor, who tried contacting Miami but with the Fourth of July weekend the office is closed, which means I have been in anguish for the past five days! I am terrified of getting this job (I am mostly scared of not doing it well) and terrified of not getting it (which would mean going home without a job)... I am even afraid to hope, since my father didn't write down the information and his memory is as bad as mine! Please cross your fingers for me!
