Sleepless in San Fran

Sep 27, 2006 23:55

I have been going to bed fairly early lately. Tonight, as always, by 10pm, I've walked the dog and I'm getting ready for bed. Now, I have insomnia, so my nightly routine consists of drinking a lemon flavored substance called "Niteworks" (remember, I sell and use everything Herbalife) and taking a sleeping pill of chamomile and melotonin. HOWEVER, tonight, after having pulled a muscle in my back, I chose to drink my Niteworks, but to ease the pain and assure I'd be knocked out, I took a muscle relaxer and a pain pill.

As I'm laying curled up with Kismet, just on the verge of falling asleep, I hear my roommate, Lucy, in the other room on the phone. I can always tell when she's on the phone with her family because she speaks in her native tongue and I can't understand a damn thing. What I did understand from this phone call was that she was upset and crying. Now, in this case, I wonder if it's best to get up and attempt to console her a bit or to leave her be. Well, me being me, I got up, grabbed some tissue, handed them to her, kissed her on the forehead and returned back to bed.

When I heard she was off the phone, I got up to check on her. Yes, I made her cry a bit more, but we talked about what was upsetting her, and I do understand. I just hate when someone I care about is upset. So we stood in the kitchen and talked for a bit, at least until I felt she would be ok, and then I staggered off to bed... again.

So, here I sit and attempt to write without too many typos while I wait on the pills to kick in and knock my happy ass out. While I'm doing this, I guess I wanted to write this to basically sum up that, well, ya know, I truly love the friends I have in my life. I'm VERY blessed that I was sent so many good people to be in my world.

Sleep well,
