She became the wind? [interested and surprised] That must be difficult.

Sounded like some kind of [pauses] mission. Or something like that.

From the tone of ... the Inquisitor's voice, it did sound like an impressive achievement that ... Marigold had only recently attained.

What kind of a mission do you think?

But still attainable, with the right training… Hnn.

Sounded like information gathering.

Information gathering... I wonder about that.

Unconsciousness respondents don't make for good answers, no. It could be that there was something in there you were looking for.

I don't get the impression that the Inquisitor planned to question them while they were unconscious... I think there's a missing step in there. The dead are the ones who don't respond easily.

Waking them up, perhaps? That sounds as though it could still be dangerous, though.

…no, I don't imagine they would.

There are plenty of ways to restrain someone unconscious if you don't want to attack you when they wake.

And not impossible to question, mind you, just very difficult.

Even for beings that attack your mind?

Aah. [does he want to know…] How?

I believe the word was 'consume,' but yes, if they needed to be questioned then... at least one would have needed to be left alive, I believe.

I'm not sure; maybe I never could, and it was up to someone else. [pause for self-ping] So by... team effort?

Sounds bad. One would be easier to deal with.

Some people to restrain or fight it if things went wrong, and others who tried to talk to it? [not the happiest conversation, but better than just a bit ago]

I was thinking more like these... missions must be difficult enough that one person can't accomplish them. Multiple skill sets in a single team would mean you could tackle a wider variety of challenges that way, especially if you're going in blind.

In that regard, I was thinking there must be some magic involved with speaking to the dead, much like raising them.

[that sounds familiar] It's a good plan. If you can cover each others' weaknesses, you can get more done.

There'd have to be. Raising the dead… [sounds unhappy as he says the last part]

It's not the way I'd prefer things, but... [remembering that memory] Well, it must have been pretty effective at least once, if not perfect teamwork. Maybe there's still things I can do on my own...

Oh not those undead we fought off! I meant like if a friend dies.

There's advantages to that, too. Is that what you prefer?

A friend… [doesn't sound much more cheerful, really]

[She'd prefer not depending on others >.>]

It doesn't matter what I prefer - only whether I accomplish my goals or not.

Well yes of course - you wouldn't want to raise an enemy now would you? But if a friend dies, and you have the... means is all I can remember. Then, wouldn't you want to bring a friend back? [Why yes this seems perfectly reasonable and commonplace and helpful and sunshine-y to her]
