My latest excitement...

Okay... maybe it isn't terribly exciting, but it is interesting to me. I've started getting my packet together for my Daughter's of the American Revolution (DAR) application. The research that I've done over the past 10 odd years has actually paid off. I'm very close to having documents that prove lineage to 3 Revolutionary War veterans. Most of my family on that side of the family is deceased, but my Grandmother did encourage me to submit as packet some years ago. She pasted away in March and I will be happy to complete what she started. After this goes through I'll be able to concentrate more on my lineage to the Mayflower and my application to the Mayflower Society.

So today I received confirmation from the DAR that yes, my G-G-G-G-Grandfather Henry Painter was a private in the Revolutionary War. And they told me his birth date. I had the year already, but not the actual DAY. Turns out that he and my father were born on the same day, April 8...just 191 years apart.

And so it continues. I've mailed off for more documents and hopefully they will get here sometime in the next 2 months.

Just a matter of waiting.
