Aya watched as Trabant ruffled her wings and flew from the treetop at Chloe's whistle, landing gracefully on his outstretched arm. Chloe's leather glove, worn to protect his skin from the sharp talons of the owl, was scratched and well-worn, indicating that the two had been friends for quite some time. The owl's presence hadn't seemed odd to Aya when he had first met Chloe, not when Chloe could seemingly make roses "apparate" out of thin air, but now he found himself to be quite curious.
"Where did she come from?" Aya asked.
Chloe winked. "Why, the sky, of course."
