I hate Christmas!
Okay, I am seriously this THIS close to just saying FUCK IT to Christmas.
Everywhere I look it's BUY THIS, or "Start a new tradition with..." or "Take advantage of our holiday sales!" or some shit like that. What the hell happened to this holiday? It's like the entire spirit of Christmas has just been commercialized into oblivion. And everywhere I look it's just people wondering what to buy other people, kids are all wondering what presents they'll get and looking forward to the time off from school they'll get. It’s more stressful and hectic than it is loving and jolly.
Also, this time of year when we're all supposed to be so happy and loving to each other, why are we so intolerant of each other? People yelling that manger scenes offend them, people whining that people saying, "Merry Christmas" offends them. Then people getting offended that they have to say “Happy Holidays” instead of saying “Merry Christmas” and they yell at you saying “Don’t use that PC bullshit on me!” I should just start a new tradition where I say "Merry Shut the Fuck Up!"
People are saying to me, “Dave, why are you so grumpy about Christmas?” Well let’s see, I started hearing about Christmas this year on October 25th. No fucking joke, October 25th I started seeing Christmas stuff in stores and hearing carols on the radio. That’s fucking insane!!! How about this, how about I go out in January and start celebrating St. Patrick’s Day? You’d call me insane and probably call the men in the white coats to come get me. But Christmas seems to be exempt from this rule and just starts earlier and earlier every god damn year! I fully expect in the next 5 years to start seeing Christmas stuff up in September. What a glutton of a holiday, it just fucking devours everything around it.
What’s even worse is that after Christmas is over, people leave up their Christmas decorations until like mid-January. And if that’s not bad enough we have “After Christmas” sales or ads for things that “Will help you make what Santa brought you work!” As if Christmas wasn’t bad enough, now we have to be REMINDED that we just had Christmas, you know in case we forgot.
