Hey people,
I know you have been waiting for me to update. I really am not trying to be the poignant livejournaler or the medical oddity of the year but oh my gosh, what a rough year it has been.
The shingles are better (hooray), the antiviral med did the trick and I only have some residual pain...
The hand allergy to flowers is chronic. I went back and visited the flower shop last week, drinking coffee and chatting and ended up running a small delivery of a vase arrangement. Didn't touch the flowers, just the box they were in. All three fingers broke out and started peeling within two days. No more deliveries for me. I miss that job a lot and the people I worked with....
Friday night I was driving two teens home from the High School dance and hit an 8 point buck. This deer weighed about 350 pounds and was so big, it took up the whole lane of the road. There was an oncoming car and no shoulder to speak of, so I had no choice and just had to plow into the poor creature. I slowly coasted to the side of the road and just kind of sat there. I think I was in shock. I really didn't know what to do. I called the mom of the teen in the back once they were done screaming and she said call 911. I think the worst thing wasn't the impact of hitting the deer, the screaming or the sitting there waiting for the cops to come. It was while the officer was taking my statement, I could hear shots behind us as they attempted to put the animal out of it's misery. In the middle of my statement, a voice came over the radio he wore clipped onto his shirt and said "This thing won't die" This statement was greeted with more wails from my passengers and I was having a hard time myself. Five shots later and it was done. I drove home slowly but of course a raccoon ran out in the road. I swerved but my ears were still ringing from all the screaming.
Tonight I was reading my friends entries and of course Thiel who always writes about the Saints, i.e.
http://thiel.livejournal.com/172410.html?nc=4 Friday was St Eustace's day. Should I even mention that the church I was married in was st Eustace's in Lake Placid?
Hope your lives are less "interesting" than mine
*hugs* to my good friends
