Gabriel was spiralling upwards in tight rapid turns, bright as a burning dragonfly, flittering and quivering and gilded in the air against the coarse browns and greys and greens of the giant.
( Chapter text )
Thank you Gabriel for saving the day and Dean's skin. But I don't think even a giant dead body blocking all possible roads is still gonna keep Cas and Dean apart now. They'll find a way through, on all levels. So that part of your plan won't work. Sorry Angel.
The action in this part was very well done and the descriptions were so compelling! By nature I'm a patient soul but the wait (while understood) is killing me!!! Lol :) If I told you to keep up the great work it'd be rather redundant since great is all you seem to produce! <3
Gabriel is so beautiful, fighting. We never got to see him fight in canon (I'll never believe HotG was meant to be Gabriel actually trying to win) and I'm grateful for every glimpse in this story.
“Balls,” breathed Bobby. “Archangel. We pissed off an archangel.”
Yes, I can't believe that Gabriel was actually ready to kill lucifer there. It seemed Ikemore of a standing up and declaring oneself moment, with the added bonus of getting the oys and Kali out of there, and the sword held between them as a warning and to make sure lucifer knows he's serious, more than as an active threat. And of course, the "fighting" in tall tales was a complete game to him (because all the best games involve chainsaws). It is a relief in this to let him actually get ut there and be awesome - and of course, after being locked up and made helpless for weeks, it's a bit of a "screw you all, THIS is what i am" too. Bobby at least got that message. ;)
