Passus I: Pes sinister.

Cas looked at him, hard and clear in the moonlight. Then Cas opened his hand, and his blade fell to the floor with a soft heavy thud. And he stood there, arms out wide, aiming that glare like a burning weight on Dean, like he was just daring him to stab him or call the dogs.

This story is AMAZING so far! I've already been sucked into this world. There's so much feeling, and it has only been 2 chapters. I can't wait for more!!!

The next chapter may also have ALL THE FEELS. Sorry. :(

But ALL THE FEELS is a good thing! An epic story is boring without them, and your story is far from boring. <3

He does have a lot of practice. :)

Technically it's not the barn (the big barn, where Gabriel is locked up) because if it was Castiel would... be very displeased. But in my head the dog feed shed is part of the barn complex!

Hah. You're absolutely right. That was deliberate - I'd almost forgotten. :) Wings and all!

... I am making the most ridiculous little eeeep noises now. Just so you know. Lots of them.

Dean's freckles! And his grin! And Castiel's little shy expression and their respective body language! And I love the use of the sepia shades - the nostalgic feel of it (which obviously I have used myself, but works particularly well for the prologue). And the way it even has a slight feel of Disney - old Disney, that is, of Fox and Hound era.

Also the gnarled textured age and shadows in that tree, and the light and smoothness and youth of the boys, and...

*saves to desktop and gazes adoringly some more*

(Honestly, the only firm notions I have about the clothes is the way the angels' tunics are fitted around their wings, which you wouldn't be able to see from this angle anyway. And Castiel is barefoot! I don't know if it was mentioned in the prologue - I don't think it was? - but he is always barefoot. ALSO HIS TOES he is doing the shy thing with his toes!)

It all makes me very happy. :)

May I put it on the masterpost and in the prologue?

What a strong scene. Tense, balancing between tenderness and hostility, the black of the night and the white of the moonlight. This meeting opened up both Dean's and Cas' minds a little, it seems to me. I'm mesmerized.

And poor Castiel was trying so hard not to think of Dean - just getting in there, doing what he had to do, good soldier - and then Dean had to just TURN UP and be all enthusiastic and happy and tender like he didn't remember people were dying here, and... Castiel did not want to have feels. :(

(Thank you!)
