CHARACTER
NAME: Blues, serial number DLN-000.
AGE: His series is actually vague on times (all dates are 200X or 20XX), so there's no way of knowing for sure how old he is physically, but being a robot means that doesn't have too much impact -- he acts like a mature human.
FANDOM/MEDIUM: Rockman Classic | Game
CANON PULL-POINT: Post Megaman 10.
ABILITIES:
- Robotic body, meaning his strength and endurance is far above most humans'. He could probably pull the wagons on his own, but good luck trying to get him to do that.
- AI systems, allowing him to scan areas, think quickly, and store away data without risk of forgetting it.
- He's incredibly skilled with playing music and his body possesses a built-in whistle, allowing him to string together sounds from it to make songs or simple notes.

Blues Buster: A powerful arm cannon like the Mega Buster. He can charge energy to make the shot stronger. In the case of The Oregon Trail, a "bad event" could cause it to backfire and damage his hand/arm.
Blues Shield: A strong shield that can deflect most attacks. In TOT, it serves much the same purpose, but it can only be used when his armor is materialized (since it's linked to said armor).
Big Bang Strike: An energy blast of tremendous power. This is immensely dangerous to use, however, as it drains the vast majority of his energy stores, if not draining them entirely.
Variable Weapon System: Blues can copy weapons/abilities from other robots or synthetics upon defeating/killing them, allowing him to use that ability or weapon himself. Each weapon has its own "energy tank," however, and the more weapons he has the more upkeep he requires.

CHARACTER BACKGROUND: You can look at it all here, or alternatively, you can look at the pages for one of the many games he's been in. A few of them, however, have him in very small roles, so only the ones where he's part of the story are here:
Megaman 3
Megaman 4
Megaman 5
Megaman 8
Megaman & Bass
Megaman 10
Megaman 2: The Power Fighters
Megaman: The Power Battle

CHARACTER PERSONALITY: Blues tends to almost always be calm and collected, even while in dire circumstances. While certain things can and do get under his skin, especially when hitting too close to home, he approaches most everything with a neutral (or amused neutral) emotion. He thinks deeply about many things, including himself and the state of those around him -- his regular silence often comes about because there's something on his mind he's trying to figure out, be it a philosophical question, forming a plan for battle, or simply what to do about a certain situation.

Blues seems to be fond of humans in general and doesn't have much issue interacting with them, often coming off as friendly at best and distant at worst. This is partly because of the way he presents himself: though cautious, intelligent, and sometimes sneaky, Blues's "flow with it" attitude means he tends comes off as relaxed, especially with how little he lets himself be ruffled. His tendency to observe things, people, and patterns sometimes gives him a mysterious air of knowing "everything"; his rather stubborn, independent nature certainly doesn't help matters, and he's more than willing to play up his knowledge when necessary.

His independent streak, however, isn't as strong as he makes it seem. Blues has no trouble working with others, even those he doesn't get along with. He is more than willing to drop in to lend a hand to Rock or Forte and is just as willing to accept a hand from them when he needs it as well. His independence seems to shine strongest when it comes to the maintenance of his body: while he will accept repairs from others when absolutely necessarily, he prefers taking care of himself and -- outside of those necessary circumstances -- refuses to let others mess around with his body in any way. This comes from a fear carried over from his first awakening: being activated while alone and flawed caused him to distrust his creator, and once combined with the knowledge that he was thought to be too independent, Blues became afraid that anyone he allowed too deep into his body would remove what made him who he was.

His time alone, however, has stunted his social skills somewhat. Blues is unused to being around people constantly, and though he has little trouble thinking of others, actually staying with them for extended periods of time tends to put him in unfamiliar territory. He truly does enjoy being around those he considers family or friends, but his "go with the flow" attitude comes from the fact that his days have been numbered since he was born -- the defect in his system is not something he can fix or will let others fix, and Blues knows it. Because of this, he feels uncomfortable with people adjusting to his presence, knowing that it will just hurt that much more whenever he inevitably succumbs to his sickness.

Even so, Blues often and gladly extends a hand to those trodden down or in need. He tends to show his care for someone through preparing them for what lays ahead, and though his methods may seem harsh and insane at times (attacking his own brother to "test" him, for one), it is inevitably for that person's own good, and Blues is delighted when they learn and grow from what he teaches them. However, he sharply separates between helping and stunting, and though he'll give his advice, he won't urge someone to act on it. If they chose to ignore him and charge forward into a trap, he'll let them do so, then step in once it's triggered to bail them out if so needed.
WORLD: The setting seems to be a sci-fi-esque take on "modern day," set around 200X-20XX. Robotics have pretty much boomed to the point of ridiculousness, with specialized, fully-functional robots being made for everything from house-keeping to demolition. Of course, all these robots are equipped with advanced AI that allow them to act like humans and think on their own without input, and pretty much everything advanced is explained by energy of some sort.

"Science energy magic" seems to be the best way I've found to describe a lot of things in it, since pretty much everything weaponized from flamethrowers to condensed bubbles to bees is explained away as scientific magic and special energy. Pick one thing in the universe, and it has energy attached to it as an explanation somehow. There are no aliens, just super advanced energy alien robots.

If you can think of it, too, there's likely a way to fit it into the series using some sort of energy -- evil energy, alien energy, random effortless energy -- it's there. Needless to say, despite the serious undertones, the series tends to be rather wacky in its own right. There's a robot that shoots bees and a robot that's a giant baseball, after all. You don't get much nuttier than that.

There is definitely something that stands out: persistence. Despite being beaten by Megaman about ten times now (if not more) Dr. Wily constantly tries scheme after scheme to take over the world, including introducing viruses, reprogramming robots, creating Forte and Gospel to take down Megaman and Rush, and all kinds of things. It's because of this that the titular character, Megaman, actually considers killing Wily at one point in an attempt to stop the vicious cycle of people getting hurt, Wily being beaten, Wily escaping, Wily trying again. He ends up not going through with it (in the American version because Bass stepped in, in the original version because the thought of actually killing someone wasn't something he could go through with), but it's still striking none the less.

In fact, Wily's rampaging is so bad that it causes the world itself to change its rules, with the government enforcing lifespans on all robots. This works about as well as anyone with a brain thinks it would, and some of the robots willingly turn to Wily's side to avoid being scrapped.

So Wily's persistence just continues on, and on, and on...
OCCUPATION: Gunsmith.

SAMPLES
THIRD PERSON: The smoke wafting up from Wily's yet-again-destroyed fortress had already begun to thin out, the sun shining cheerfully on the wrecked structure. It had just been business as usual today -- drop in on Rockman, lend him a hand, get to Wily, blast the entire thing until it exploded -- but the aftermath had been anything but usual.

Once Wily had gone into his usual routine of begging, Blues had been hit with a horrific wave of pain. He had quickly bid Rockman farewell and teleported out to one of the surrounding cliffs, just barely scraping by in time to avoid the two seeing this. The moment his feet had touched the ground, Blues had dropped to his knees, hands clutching his chest and body trembling.

He had known for years that the 'repair' Wily had made was only letting him live on borrowed time. When doing anything more than simply dropping in to toss Rockman an item or open a way, spikes of pain in varying degrees had let him know exactly what his body thought of it, but it was normally something he could easily ignore. It had never been quite at this level.

So did that mean his time was finally up? It seemed to be so. After all this, it was finally happening...

"You don't have to say anything. I know how you suffer, Blues."

Tch. Dr. Light. He had been the cause of this, activating Blues while he was unfinished, defective. Light had made him to be independent, but what good was it to think for yourself when you were not only the only one of your kind who could do so, but that people were put off by that very notion?

And yet, the passing of time and the fleeting presences of his little brothers had done wonders in erasing the hatred he had carried for so long.

He hadn't forgiven Light just yet, but... he was getting close.

"Thank you, everyone! I will not yield!"

Rockman. One of the most naive people he had ever seen, yet it was that naivety that made him so endearing. Charging selflessly head-long into danger without any concern for his own well-being, ending up walking into traps because of his desire to help others... that was what inspired Blues to 'drop in' on his little brother whenever needed. Really, what would Rock do without him?

"I'll deal with you after I defeat Rockman."

Forte. Bullheaded, psychopathic, and above all, loud, he had a stubborn streak longer than the world itself. Every time Rockman knocked him down, he got right back up to fight again, even going so far as to turn on his own creator to get the chance he wanted. He was definitely the most difficult of their "family," but even so...

No.

"I know my body better than anyone."

Slowly, but surely, Blues began pushing himself up, getting to first one foot, then the other. Each wave of pain caused him to pause for a heavy few seconds, but once it subsided even a fraction he was moving again. Minute by minute, he finally stood once again on his own two feet.

I refuse. Not here, not now.

It was only once the sun's setting had cast an orange glow over him that the pain finally disappeared, leaving Blues to stare at the darkening sky.

It will kill me someday... But it certainly won't take me without a fight.
FIRST PERSON:
[The video showing is of the trail, slightly jerky and tilting from the fact that the one broadcasting is in a moving wagon. It's exactly the same thing as what anyone could see if they just sat in the wagon and looked out, so what's the big deal?

In this case, the audio.

About two or three seconds after the video starts, a strange yet pretty whistle begins playing, though nothing but the never-ending trail is shown.

The song stops suddenly at the sharp yowl of some nearby animal, and the view moves to the inside of the wagon, showing the shoulder and arm of the person riding. A strange green cat has its claws sunken into the jacket of his master and, from the sour look he's giving the ground, it's clear the yowl came from him almost falling out of the wagon. There's a dry but amused chuckle, and the video finally shifts to the person making the video. Despite the fact that he's clearly a newcomer, there's an almost unnerving sense of calm about him, as if appearing asleep in the back of a wagon doesn't even register on the "strange" meter for this guy.]

I've known a few robots who could freeze time, but sending someone through it is a new one. Traveling like a pioneer wasn't exactly what I had planned for this week.

I'm usually fairly accurate with history, but even I didn't know that they used teleport fields back then. [The snark is blatantly obvious. Someone tried losing the wagons without any luck!

The feline meows, appearing from behind the man's body and balancing on his shoulder. Either that's a huge cat, or the man is a lot shorter than his voice suggests.]

Seems like someone likes playing old games, considering this looks like one I saw a few years ago. The fact that I'm apparently supposed to make guns seems fitting for that game. Seeing as I've never so much as touched a typical firearm, why they chose me to make them is a mystery, I'll admit. I know my way around blasters, but they aren't exactly open-market and they're certainly not made in the same way as human firearms.

NOTES: I prefer the original names, so I've just reverse-translated them rather than stick with the English ones (Blues instead of Protoman, Rockman instead of Megaman, Forte instead of Bass).

As hammered out with the mods earlier, Blues will remain his normal, robotic self. However, he won't be immune to bad events. Instead, whatever injury the mod gives him will be translated into something that can affect him, such as a broken leg causing the leg to shut down completely while catching the flu will cause his systems to overheat and remain overheated until "cured." Also, his way of keeping energy/himself active will be eating, drinking, and sleeping to keep it fair to other people. Any clothing sets he get will come with a yellow scarf (as his trademark) and he'll have his robotic pet cat Tango with him. His core is mostly stabilized, mostly so that he won't end up causing a huge explosion and killing everything nearby if he's destroyed in just the wrong way (unless something exceptional happens or the group he's with all want to be nuked or something). Finally, he can will his armor on or off, and when he dies his armor is restored, but he has no way of repairing the armor without dying.
