I was thinking of making a collage this weekend, or take some time to do an art project for work. I can't go *away* anywhere [and Christ the terrible smog is back, so there's no fresh air], but I think I'll make *something*. If it's not that poster/collage, i may just patch up clothes - it won't "help anyone" (except maybe the people who don't want to see me in my torn clothes. Rude - likeRudefrom30rock), but it's still Making Something.
You're one of those friends who'll push friends out of Wallowing in their Heads into the Doing in Real World (WITH LOVE) innit? :D :D
Are you artsy, Muse? Apart from the writing, obviously. And toenail painting!
Well, I feel like life is too short to want to do things. I think we should just try and do them, even in small ways. :)
I used to draw a lot when I was younger (and play instruments/sing), but I'm not good at those things. I can be passable at them at best; words are my natural artist language. Still, I am passionate about the consumption of visual art, and I would say that I express myself quite a bit through what people see, like the jewelry I choose to wear on any given day (particularly my earrings, which always tell a story) or how I decorate my house (the colors and fabrics as well as the pieces of art).
It's been an interesting rediscovery of my drawing abilities an adult to have a small child who is very artistic and wants me to draw/paint/make sculptures with him. I'm still not good at it, but I've rediscovered why I enjoyed making art.
Thank you re: the museling; you are the sweetest. :) And I ADORE your singing story! :D
I am firmly of the opinion that we are never too old to learn things. Life is meant to be explored! That's not just for the young.
I'm so sad to hear that you can't wear any jewelry! I have a friend who can only wear sterling silver for that reason... which is no hardship to me, because I only wear sterling silver and white gold (and some antique platinum pieces), but still. It's awful not to be able to do what you love.
