privacy is ecstacy.

"Privacy is ecstasy.

Kurt’s straight friends will never understand, he knows that. They’ve never understood any of it, they just never think about it, generally speaking straight people don’t. They don’t think about holding love close to their chest, never quite showing their hand, because they don’t know what the reaction will be. If they’re in love with someone they have hope, they never have to fall in love and know that a quirk of biology means that the person they want so much is just incapable of returning any real feeling at all.

And when they are with someone, they don’t have to worry about who’s watching. They don’t have to face people being not only aggressive or threatening or actively dangerous but just uncomfortable. Because Kurt can restrain himself from every desperate want to touch Blaine in public and tell himself that it’s to keep Blaine safe, but he knows that most of the time, it’s just to avoid having to see someone look away too quickly, or hold their mouth like that, or just stare like they have a right to, like Kurt and Blaine are some kind of exhibit on show. What he feels for Blaine is pure and untouched and nothing but good. He refuses to have other people intrude any bad feeling on it, all that shame and uneasiness and distaste, it’s nothing to do with them."

- from the exquisite fic by Rainjoy, Do Not Disturb

a. That part absolutely gutted me because it cuts so true to my own experiences.
b. The rest of the fic is less achy and just divine, insightful and f*cking hot.
c. Rainjoy is a queen and one should read everything she writes.
