Survey

Hello everyone. I would like to conduct a sociology/psychology survey. Participate if you wish.

1.Would you consider yourself an avid reader?

2. Do you find yourself narrating, plotting, or wondering why your life isn't more like books and movies?

That's all, thanks :-)

I would in fact consider myself an avid reader, although I find that more recently it is an enforced avid reader due to classes and books I have to read, but I still am trying to get through other books on the side, and know that I would be reading anyways even if I weren't told to (though the type of novel would probably differ quite a bit).

I tend to narrate the action around me, at least to some degree. I also enjoy deciding where the critical turning points are/were in specific situations in my life, and then try to figure out what led up to that turn. I don't really wonder why my life isn't like books or movies, although depending which book or movie I do suppose that I fantasize about it at times (become a member of the Harper Hall? Ooo! Pick me!). I mean, most people I think wish they could have some epic adventure sometime in their life, safe with the certain knowledge that because they are the protagonist they won't suffer any lasting damage or die.

Yes to both. Though I don't read (actual books) these days as much as I'd like to, I still consider myself a fairly avid reader. And I've definitely found myself mentally narrating my life, or thinking something along the lines of "Now, if this was a story, what would happen next is..."

1. If you count textbooks, emails, and the Florida Dept. of Education website, then sure! If not...well...maybe after graduation. =)

2. Yes, quite frequently, actually... I'm not crazy, really!

1. Yes.

2. Only in that I constantly find myself thinking about music in soundtrack terms. Example: driving down the road, and a song comes on the radio. "Oh, that's a great choice for the road montage! It has that combination of purposefulness and rambling that's required for this shot."
