Something I need to talk about
So Ive come upon a problem here in my house at Caltech. I feel like aggression and submission is something upperclassmen expect of the freshman, and their compliance leads to acceptance as they turn into the next class. Well, thats not something I am willing to deal with. Me not doing whats "expected" has brought about some head butting with a couple of people leading to some talks and allegations about me behind my back...about how I should be seen because of this.
Some people say that the submission of the freshmen and their degradation by upperclassmen is part of what my house does. If thats the case, I dont support that in any way. How could it be at all acceptable to make someone fit in just by calling them out as generally incompetitent WITHOUT any reason at all? How is that AT ALL right? Its not.
I would have been expected what I said would be understood.
I dont have to...change. I dont have to appologize for standing up for whats right. I most certainly dont have to beg for forgiveness and a second chance. I wish these people involved would just put it aside and act like normal human beings to me. I will do the same either way.
