New addition to our place, tiny kitten of cute named Iris. Who isn't so awfully tiny anymore that I worry I'm going to crush her (when we got her) delicate bird bone rib age. Now I'm worried she is going to run in between my legs when I am walking (again) and I am going to fall on her and crush her. Haven't yet, but we are still working on " if you want to play with your tail at 2 in the morning, you have to do it OFF the bed." She and Aeneas are doing well together, so that's good.
Leak over the stove after storms last week was determined to be coming from the currently defunct ductwork for an external stove hood vent. Like so many things in this place, any repairs/"upgrades" were done on the cheap, and so what is up now is a cheaptastic internal venting hood. But it finally got me up in the attic, and (after pulling down the wall paneling and broken down cardboard boxes which have to have been up there for cheap insulation and not flooring, right?) I got some 1/2 inch plywood 2x8 boards up there. Was able to determine no damage to the roof itself, and now have a clean attic, less extraneous wiring*, and way to get around to put more very needed insulation up there. In the fall..
Work has been kicking my ass, and various other things have been keeping me busy, only some in a fun way. Like, my car didn't start last week, but Alsafi's dad popped the clutch on it, and so got it going. Mechanic found a switch at the clutch to be bad, so got it fixed in one day, and not too expensive.
*for some reason, the wires for the defunct alarm system, cable, satalite dish, etc. irritate me, and I've been getting rid of them where I can. Alsafi won't let me pull off the phone line that runs around the outside of the extension ( maybe 10 ft in the attic, about 40 outside). Yet.
