I went to the YMCA today, since my goal is to get -some- exercise every day while I am off. Yesterday I did an easy 15 minutes (at about 2 mph) on the treadmill. Today I decided to push myself up to 20 minutes, and without my heartrate getting into the red, I still got over 3 mph, and managed a mile in 22 minutes.
I've been stuck around 15 minutes for years (mostly because I only go to the Y once in never). Don't know why the increased cardio, unless the modified ladder exercises (rung 5 now, but not doing the steps/jumping jacks) most every night since before Thanksgiving have been doing more good than I realized. In the realm of people running marathons, it's not much, but as someone who remembers getting on a treadmill and 10 minutes being a painful push, it is very exciting.
The endorphins don't hurt either.
