An interesting read. Sounds intensive - and it looks like I may be eligible for a £4,000 teaching grant (because Art isn’t a core curriculumn subject; English, Math and Science, for instance, get’s a teaching grant of up to £9,000) which would be incredibly helpful.
I think I’m also eligible for the tuition fee loan of £3,000. Of course, I’d have to pay that back eventually (just as I still need to repay the £10,000+ I owe for the Bachellor’s Degree I earned a few years ago.)
There’s an ‘Open Day/Information Morning’ thing going on in the university on February 8th, specifically for prospective PGCE students. Looks like I’ll be going to that, then - luckily, my BF lives in Swansea, so I can impose myself upon his hospitality.
All I’m worrying about, really, is getting a cheap enough place to live in Swansea, a job to help pay for it and affording all the books and teaching equipment I’m going to need to buy. I have half a dozen teaching books on my Christmas list his year - so hopefully I’ll get a few of them, which will make it easier.
So… Back to the Flat and Job searching then.
