I dream

I'm in a house that looks like a cross between my current house and the house I lived in before I went to university. There are two rodents - changing rapidly from mice to rats, each time I catch sight of them - running around the house. I chase them into the livingroom and open the door/french-window (it's a strange mix of the two) and they race out of it, turning into rats - one sleek and clean and healthy looking, the other manky, dirty and skinny.

Suddenly, outside, as I close the door quickly, there is a horrible little pug/terrier cross ratter, it looks up at me and growls long and low, before chasing after the rats. The manky one I see stops and sits up and looks at me - almost like an anthro rat - I get the impression that he's angry with me, before both of the rats dissapear under the fence.

I then spot kittens and two mother cats in the garden. HUNDREDS of kittens, all ranging from new-born to a few weeks old. I don't want the ratter to get them, so I rush outside into a garden that is a strange mix of my old house's garden and a field that's been left to overgrow. I catch the kittens, putting them all in my pockets and a bucket - for some reason, the bucket is a normal sized bucket, but the kittens, without getting any smaller, ALL fit inside it.

I persuade the two mother cats to come inside - they are both black, one of them is fluffy and the other is almost as big as tottoro. Now we're in a strange mix of my old bedroom and my current office. I put all the kittens in a large, colourful hat-box and help the mother cats up onto my high bunk-bed.

I look out the window and see the garden, it is even bigger now, with an old shed at the far right corner and a dodgy line hanging from below my window, down to a concrete pole on the middle left - this garden is like a mix of a field and my paternal grandmother's garden, except, beyond the end fence, there is a gravel/concrete area, with sacks of builders sand dotted about, that is reminicent of the area behind my old house's garden.

The smaller mother cat has a collar on - it is plastic, slightly pink and grey and looks like a hospital wrist-band. It has the name of her owner on it, 'Mavis Cheek'.

(Mavis is my Nanna's real name - though we all knew her as Micky, because she hated 'Mavis'.)

Suddenly, I'm at the front door and there is a huge crowd of reporters, concerned citizens and RSPCA members. The outside is again a mix of the view from my old house and my current house - very strange. All the people are clamouring for me to answer them - 'Why have you kidnapped the kittens!' 'What are you going to do with them!' What do you want!'

The RSPCA want to take them away, but I yell that I haven't kidnapped them, only rescued them and will find them homes as soon as I can. I slam the door and I'm reading the mother cat's collar again. I go back to the front door, but this time, it opens into a hallway - and it looks like a cross between a hospital hallway and one of the hallways at my secondary school - the crowd is still there, but behind and to the left of the crowd, I can see a small group of five or six old ladies - all with white hair and wearing cleaners uniforms.

I skirt the crowd and call out for 'Mavis Cheek!' She turns and we talk - I explain to her that her cat had gotten pregnant and was too embarrassed and scared to come home and face the music. But 'Mavis' is fine, she's just so happy to have her cat back, and she will love the kittens as if they were her own. She happily takes her cat and it's kittens home in a brightly coloured hatbox. I am left with the tottoro sized cat and half the kittens.

Then Mom woke me up c.c

Yeah - apparently this whole thing is playing havok with my subconscious.
