God is amazing
Two and half days of school left. One day of actual teaching left. I can't believe how fast five months have passed. Soon my little birds will fly on to third grade... and mama will be left with a little hollow of sadness. These little dears have planted themselves deep into my heart.
Bittersweet. I am so ready for summer break and to have a chance to spend time in Portland, do fun things with friends I haven't seen, and basically recuperate. But I am also saddened by the fact that I blinked and my 16 students are moving on. Getting attached just comes with the job description unfortunately.
When I think back to January, I'm amazed at how much I've changed since then. I was so utterly unsure when I came here, and now I consider this to be my new home. I am much more confident, and feel like I have direction and purpose to my life. There is much to learn yet, and next year quite possibly will be the hardest teaching year of my entire career. But what doesn't kill you...
For now I greatly anticipate the adventures summer will bring. Starting with finally graduating from college.
