oh my.
i have to work at noon. until sixish. this is a damn shame. she wants me to work this tuesday too.
last night when i came home from work, the tree-created alcove of my house was a veritable rainforest. the moisture was visible in the air with hazy sun rays coming through all of the green trees that surround my house. it was as steamy as the rainforest room at the franklin park conservatory AND it smelled like ozone as well as being muggy as hell. how amazon it all was. i was expecting a tiger to come out of the bushes or something.
we tried to go to comfest and we got rained on, hardcore. for some reason we made the trek all the way up high street from 1st, stood there for awhile, tried to walk around until everything really did close up, & walked back. the great thing about rain like that is that it creates this community on the street, with people all soaked & flip flops floating down gutter floods everywhere - umbrellas turning up & rain dripping down everyone's faces - everyone's nicer: if you chance to look at someone, there's that mutual understanding between you of holy shit, we're really soaked. which is nice.
