rain.

today while i was driving home from kenyon, the clouds started gathering and darkening & i could tell it was going to rain. by the time i reached sunbury, water was pounding down from the sky; i was in a rain cloud, veritably, being whipped with sheets of water blowing up on the sides of my car and i could hardly see two feet in front of me. it was a smashing rain - i had to pull over because i couldn't see & my poor tiny car was getting wooshed about. i got out of my car after i parked, because there was no better choice, really. the woman behind the counter at the UDF could see me through the ice cream parlor window. she and the rest of the customers watched me, wondering who this crazy girl was. i just stood there, put my arms up, smiled at the sky, & got completely soaked. my shorts & tank top still aren't dry.

for a flash storm, it lasted a long time, but when it finally cleared up (as abruptly as it had come), there was cool breeze & the temperature had dropped from muggy in at least the 80s to 73. the sun came back out and everything felt fresh.

this was my favorite part of the day, rivalled only by having delicious heated pita & hummus at kenyon with kirsten!

i've begun to rethink my college decision, wondering if it's for the best. i'm sure i'll love it when i get there, but i'm just... i'm not as confident in my decision as i ought to be.

my mom & brother leave tomorrow. [semi-unrelatedly] i feel inspired & ready to take over the world.
