everyone around me is sick. i must prevail. half of it's mental anyway, right?
this reminds me of my childhood : my mother used to make me watch a historical video on the donner party every time she was getting ready to do the pioneer unit for her 4th grade class.

my birthday this year is one i've waited for since i was a child. 06/06/06!
a d-day like none other. my plan was to have a large 060606 themed party, since i never really have birthday parties, but i'll be on kent island. is it worth celebrating 060606 on, say, june 16 instead? i can't decide. it's all numbers, sure, but either way, it's kind of exciting. (and, you know, such dates have born significance for me in the past...) i will never get a chance like this again, until i am 79, and by then celebrating a birthday won't be so much fun, will it?
speaking of which, let's have a bash for 12/12/12. it will be the last time we can take advantage of living in the beginning of a millenium. w00t
