I've not yet bought a watermelon, but I'm tan already from two car wash fund raisers and approximately 40 softball games and oodles of practices.
The shit has also officially hit the fan with Steve. His temper has done him in. Stephy stayed up to watch a movie with Court, Taylor, Cara and me so of course she fell asleep on my lap. Steve was taking up refuge in Miranda's bedroom since she's staying the night with a friend and we were up late (hence his 'bed', aka the couch, was occupied). I had one of the kids go get him so he could pick Steph up off me to put her in bed, I can't lift her obviously from that position. So he picks her up then tells her to go potty. She pretends to then tries to slip into bed, but he yells at her and she refuses to go potty. He grabs her by the arm and shoves her into the bedroom, yelling at her. She's crying at this point. What the fuck? Oh baby. That was his ass. After I shipped him out, I then find out from Courtney that the other day when he was practicing with Taylor and Cara at the ball diamond he had a fit. He was trying to show Cara how to bat but she didn't want to do it his way so he threw the bat at her feet, which missed her only because she jumped. That just pissed me off more. That's it. He's gone for good this time.
He tried pulling some stupid shit in front of the assistant coach at the car wash Saturday also. Staking his claim so to speak. He stopped just to have his car washed and when it was finished he was talking with the coach when I walked up and asked him to go home and check on the kids, that they had called me several times, Chris and Steph were fighting. He said he already took care of it and put one in 'our bedroom' and one in another room. Which is funny since we don't share a bedroom. Then today he had a little tantrum at the ball diamond at Cara's practice. He was talking rather loudly about how he thought the coach was miffed at him because usually he talks to him but this time he curtly barked which diamond the girls were practicing on. Then started to comment on why he thought the coach was acting that way. I told him to shut up and go pick up Court from Mom's house. What an ass. Granted, I don't want to encourage the coach, but I'll be damned if Steve is going to try to mark me as his territory like some horny male cat that needs to be neutered. I kicked him off that ride more than seven years ago. You'd think he'd find another to hitch on to ^.^
And the coach isn't giving up. He's giving Steve the cold shoulder, but not me. He was manning the pitch machine until Cara came up to bat, then he had his sister take over and he moved over to the fence behind Cara. Right in my line of sight so all I had to stare at was his ass. Then he took over the machine again when she was done. It's all the little comments he makes and such. I don't know. The other mom is hot after him, forcing herself upon him even. She's having him cart her daughter around all over even though her daughter is now on a different team for the All Star season. According to the daughter, they aren't dating, he just runs her around everywhere because her mom asks him to (as the gossip goes from Taylor-Court). I don't know if he's doing it out of courtesy or because he's just taking things at a slow pace. It's... weird. But I wish they would hurry and get this relationship kicked off before the overnight game. I have a feeling things will become awkward in a hurry if hot-to-trot-momma hasn't bagged her man yet. Not to mention his sister and I are on a first name basis now. I didn't know she knew my name, we barely talk other than joking around periodically at games and practices. I still don't know if I'm pronouncing her name correctly so I've shortened it :P
On the work front, things are awesome. We're merging with a huge practice. But we'll be the only group in the new office for a little while. It has 10 exam rooms, a huge nurse's station, nice big receptionist area, break room, several offices, two bathrooms, a drug closet, storage, it's incredible! I'm so excited. We went early to meet with the owner and his biller this morning. The biller took over our billing and is already in the process of switching everything. We have a month to get ready for the move. They provide a ton of services next door and when our docs utilize their services they get a bonus. I felt a little odd at the end of the meeting when the two gentlemen went round and hugged everyone. I'm not a huggy person. I'm a hand shake kinda girl until I get to know someone. I started to put my hand out but ended up in a hug anyway. Bleh. Touchy feely people! Anyway, I'm excited about the merge, it will be a wonderful opportunity.
On mom's front, she fired the guy that was working on her computers for being a rip off artist. He set up the SQL database for her but obviously doesn't know what he's doing and claimed it was a power supply issue. Um. No. I figured out why her computer kept shutting down up front every five minutes. Simple problem. Simple fix. The screen saver kicked in after a five minute idle. Neat, the computer would freeze and then her charting program on all other computers would go down due to the networked SQL database. Yeah... This guy not only charged her $1000 to set this crap up and changed the existing router we had initially installed to a wireless one (against HIPAA unless you have security measures installed, which he didn't), but he also had nerve to send her a bill for an additional $4000 for work he hasn't even done yet! Then charged her for service calls to come out and fix the computer for shutting down, which of course he didn't, it kept doing it until I found the problem and fixed it myself. He would come in, sit at each computer station typing a shitload, yet nothing was ever fixed. Con artist. Hence, as mother put it, his services were no longer required. What a jackass. I'm still in shock that he changed the router. This guy supposedly has worked for docs for years and should have known better. So he threatened Mom with the HIPAA issue to which she replied that she would counter sue him for changing the router and incomplete work, the charges he sent for work not yet done, the faulty work on the computers that someone else had fixed for which he was already paid and at that point he shut up. Dick. Oddly though the invoice he sent disappeared over the weekend. Mom said she couldn't find it Monday which means his buddy (who was supposed to be Mom's practice manager and who has a key to the office) must have went in there and retrieved it for him after their conversation. So, she hasn't had any problems with her computers since I fixed it though :) Bad thing is, I've been upgraded to Geek-master Randy's apprentice. Egads. I'm my brother's geeky understudy :P
Anyway, more practices this week. Cara has three total for the week, Taylor had a game today, another tomorrow. She kicked butt today, she pitched for one inning!! They one the first game in their regular season tournament. Her All Star games don't start until this season ends. She's going to be so tired heh. Later!
