(no subject)

School started, much to my children's delight, and mine admittedly. I no longer get 4-5 calls a day listening to them argue :) My son is in a senior class this year, he's a sophomore. He also got a girl's phone number his first day of school, he was so excited. Miranda had a really good first day. We bleached her hair out over the summer and I had it taken a shade lighter before school started and had her eyebrows waxed as well when I took her clothes shopping. She feels all prissy now. Cara and Stephy had a great day too. I'm just really glad Dre' had a good day, was worried about him, but he seems to be more prepared for this year than the last. He was nervous about taking the senior class, but he's relaxed now because the teacher is cool and he knows half the seniors, plus there are two other sophomores in the class, girls :)

Work is okay. Minimal arguments with the parental figure there. I think she's realizing now that my opinion isn't just bullshit mouth running :P And her attempt to embarass me yesterday in front of Scott (yes the hinky oxygen dude) failed and it ended up making her look rather foolish and ignorant on the subject she was trying to humiliate me for so she shut up and found an excuse to leave the room. It was so stupid. She said "You have to stop placing these orders to Esurg for 2-300 dollars and taking them out of the account without telling me." I informed her they weren't coming out of our account, they were charged to the Esurg account, hence we were being billed for them. She tried to argue with me that they were being taken out of our checking account and I told her to look on the statements I printed up for her, they clearly show that they were charged to the Esurg account and not paid for. That's when she shut up and left and Scott was smirking, actually smirking, when she left. Damn. I'm playing the role of Office Manager and Practice Manager and she acts like I'm an idiot. She commented the other day that she needs to find someone to run the front office so I can take over as Practice Manager since I run the clinic anyway. Skippy. Now that Pepper is helping me in the office (filing paperwork... somewhat) I'm getting more done and will have time to train someone. We're also finally seeing insurance payments on a daily basis. Nothing substantial except for one fat check from Medicare. But once things start coming in regularly, we can afford to hire someone else.

Karolina is doing great. I'm switching us to a new laboratory company that will coming in and train her and I both on blood draw (yay phlebotomy). She's had only two successful draws out of... 7 or so? I'm just not the right person to teach her, I'm still a novice myself. So this training will be valuable for both of us. I've been trying to convince mom to switch and she's been against it, so I finally threw out an excellent argument for it yesterday and she agreed to try them. We'll still keep our account with the other company so that if this one doesn't work out we can switch back. We don't have a contract with either, so it isn't like there is something to lose :) Plus we get a free printer to use in the office ^.^ and they have a resident pathologist which only two labs in Indy have: them and Butler. Yeah. Huge perk and one of the three major selling points for me. First being turn around time on certain key labs and second being client pricing. They were substantially cheaper than the existing lab we use. Mom's only argument against using them - "I don't know them." rofl

Anyway... off to work. See ya :)
