I don't know. Drabbling, I came up with these but I know I'll never get around to expanding on them so I'll post them in their very short state.

Jules rolls over onto his back, stares at the ceiling. "Max." He whines, hefts himself onto his side again and pokes Max in the shoulder repeatedly until Max swats at his hand sleepily.
"What?" Max grumbles in return, blinks his eyes open, squinting in the dark of the room.

"I can't sleep." Jules says pitifully, pushing at the covers until they're pooled at their feet, too warm.

"She keeping you awake again?"

"No. She's asleep." Jules says, sighing as Max pushes up the t-shirt Jules is wearing, rubbing gentle circles with wonderfully cold fingers into the stretched skin of his belly, their baby quiet for a change. Normally at, Max squints at the red lights of their alarm clock, two in the morning, she's squirming around and keeping Jules awake. "She was, earlier."

"Why can't you sleep then, hm?" Max murmurs, moves his hand around to rub at his back where it's aching. Jules moans, presses his face to Max's shoulder, breathing in his scent and beginning to drift off. Max follows him mere minutes after, listening to Jules' laboured breathing, baby pressing up against his lungs uncomfortably.

Emily yawns, fingers curling and uncurling, eyes slowly falling shut. Max can't take his eyes off her, the fluffy brown curls that are unmistakably Jules', the tiny scrunched up face that's he's fallen in love with. Jules smiles tiredly when Max glances over at him, patting the bed next to him. Max carefully sits down, careful not to jostle Jules, smile growing as Jules leans over, gently touching Emily's tiny hand, resting his head against Max's shoulder and smiling down at her, hand bandaged up with his IV and stitches raw in his stomach judging by the way his other hand is carefully pressed to his stomach and Jules has put himself through hell for Emily, but they're both ok, more than ok, they're perfect and they're Max's family, all squished together in a hospital bed, half-awake but deliriously happy.
