so now thanks to our good ol' president, WILD CAUGHT MUSTANGS can be sold to slaughter. Because of the fuckers in the cattle industry demanding more and more land every year, there's been many many roundups by the BLM of wild mustangs to be auctioned off for adoption. They previously took measures to ensure that horses sold at auction were not bought for slaughter (things such as the "owner" did not have complete legal rights - namely the ability to sell the animal - for two or three years after buying it), but thanks to Bush (who we all know doesn't give a flying fuck out the environment) any mustang rounded up who is 10 years or older or who is younger but goes through three unsuccessful auctions, the US government allows to be sold ot foreign slaughter markets. Not only do they allow it to happen, they encourage it.
Way to go, America. Really. I know i'm a horse lover, but regardless, but i think everyone understands the symbolism of the American Mustang. I mean, how would everyone feel if they rounded up wolves and sent them to be dinner in China? But because cattlemen want the lands, the mustangs suffer. So in the end, thanks to all you american's who eat excessive amounds of beef.
I understand that there can is an “overabundance” of wildlife (ok in my opinion there’s simply an overabundance of humans but whatever) that must be taken care of. But for god’s sake can’t we just humanely euthanize them? It disturbs me that Americans (aka Bush-humpers) would support the destruction of the American Mustang, but if you’re going to be that uncaring, at LEAST do it kindly. Horse slaughter ain’t pleasant. Anyone take a look at the cow slaughter video I linked to last week? Yah, just replace ol’ bessie with seabiscuit and there you go.
Its an American disgrace, NOT a necessary evil.
