I'm not going to be running back to a Sunday chapel service at St. Olaf anytime soon, this morning wasn't bad, it's just not what I'm really looking for, not that I know what exactly I am looking for. Anyways, next week (maybe the next two weeks) I'm going to try St. Dominique's in town and see what that's like; I want to try the 10:30 service first because that's, according to Sarah, when all the college students go, which is why she doesn't like that time, and then I want to try her time. I'm afraid that I have too high expectations for a church service; Father George at St. Joan of Arc sets a pretty high precedent. My mom put it perfectly: you leave St. Joan feeling like you experienced something spectacular, that you witnessed something life-changing every time you went. I'd like to leave church/chapel not feeling guilty for being alive or like I'm doing something wrong, a feeling I never got at St. Joan. So, looking for something like that, I'm going to try a bunch of different places, hopefully one every week, there are plenty of churches in town: Lutheran, Methodist, etc. I'm going to see if one clicks. I just hope I'm not looking for another St. Joan, because I highly doubt I'll find one.
