George Selwyn and Thomas Fairchild appear in my
Still Human series. They're currently taking a vacation on Twikii Island.
Yesterday, George and Thomas visited the Witch Doctor. While Thomas shirked, George worked hard to fix all of the Witch Doctor's broken appliances. The Witch Doctor didn't thank him for it, though. To work out his frustration, George challenged Thomas to a showdown game of chess. He wasn't successful in that, either.
George and Thomas return to the hotel in the early morning, after their all-night chess marathon. They go straight to bed and sleep until noon.

When they finally get up, it appears to be on the wrong side of the bed. Thomas wants to entertain George, so I have him tell a dirty joke. As soon as George starts to laugh, however, Thomas acts offended. He's shocked that George would laugh at such a joke. Once he stops laughing, George acts offended. He's shocked that Thomas could say something like that. This is the first time they've had a negative interaction. (I felt a little sad.)

To clear their heads, they go to Southend Beach, the final mooring-place of an old pirate ship.
It's a cloudy day, and also their last one on the island. The offensive joke seems to have cast a pall over things. George refuses to mope around, though. He autonomously builds a sandcastle, and Thomas joins him. Naturally, the Knowledge Sim has to turn it into a learning experience.

Simgaroop So, this is one of the few times I've tried to pose a picture. George and Thomas “finished” building a shapeless sandcastle. I had them build another one so that I could take a nice picture. They did the same thing, again. And they're actually pleased with it. It seemed like such a guy thing: ''Yep, good enough.”
They both want to go on a tour, so George speaks with the guide. Now, I was curious to see if the new default skins I added recently have also transformed the tour guide's appearance. Sadly, he still looks like he belongs on a remote island.
(To refresh your eyes, please look at the buff islander positioned to the right of the guide.)

Since they're near the water, George asks about parasailing. It will cost $600, however, and they're running out of money. I don't know whether George is laughing at the price, or getting a bit hysterical over their dwindling funds. Whatever it is, the guide feels the need to defend himself.
Thomas is no help in this matter. He just wants to buy stuff they can't afford, like jewellery or a game.
So, George tries again. The helicopter tour will cost $400, which is a little cheaper. (Perhaps the tour guide felt threatened and gave them a deal?) So, they decide to say good-bye to the island by seeing from the air the parts they didn't have time to explore on the ground.
While the helicopter is touching down, George autonomously tells Thomas a dirty joke! I held my breath - how would they both react? To my relief, they both laughed. So, they've gotten over what happened, this morning.
(George is referring to a scene in
Mrs. Henderson Presents. Mrs. Henderson looks at a topless girl auditioning for her theatre's nude revue and remarks, “Fried eggs!” Thom can appreciate the humour, but maybe not the imagery.)
And then it happens: my Sim proves that he is more mature than I am. Thomas looks past George to swoon over the tour guide! Thom does seem to be attracted to a lot of Sims, but those Sims aren't necessarily good-looking. Thom is able to see past their appearance to their inner beauty.
But poor George. Look at that smile. He must think Thomas is swooning over him.
Now, I'm sharing this next photo for two reasons. First, because it looks as though George is about to give Thomas a hard time for complaining about the helicopter's noise. I though that was funny and realistic.
The second reason almost made me fall out of my chair. At this point, George was thinking about Thomas, and Thomas was still farting hearts for the tour guide. As they were walking, their thought bubbles overlapped. For a moment, it looked as though George was farting hearts for Thomas, and was starting the “call me” gesture!
But no, he was just getting ready to strike a glamour pose.
Night falls, and the helicopter returns them to the beach. As the helicopter lifts off, again, the Unsavoury Charlatan sidles over to George and greets him. Behind them, Thomas makes a face. Maybe it's because the helicopter is noisy. Maybe it's because his crush is talking to someone else.
(And the Charlatan didn't rob George! I guess the guide warned him not to provoke this particular tourist.)
They have dinner back at the hotel. Now it's Thomas's turn to be targeted by an unsavoury NPC. Thom will be leaving, tomorrow, so the cook decides to make his move. Just watch his hands. As he sets down Thom's plate, the cook thinks about him and fondles his Pineapple Surprize.
And as he clears the dishes, the cook looks straight at Thom and caresses the counter.
Thomas is oblivious to the cook's sleazy come-ons, but George notices.
You can scowl all you want, George. Until you decide how you feel about Thomas, he's an easy target for every pervert he meets.
The cook's behaviour doesn't ruin their appetites, however. Before I can stop them, they gorge themselves on dinner, and now they don't have enough money to pay their bill. I'm curious, actually, to see what will happen when they check out.
The bellhop is looking forward to it, too. Blissfully.

George goes to bed, but Thomas isn't tired at all. He wants to gain another logic point, so he goes to the Boardwalk across the street. While he's there, he snaps some photos of his vacation crushes, like the Unsavoury Charlatan.
The tour guide resists having his picture taken, though. There's something about Thom and George that makes him defensive.
