Inception Fic Masterlist!

Dec 15, 2020 19:57

Welcome! I am Whisky and this is my fanfiction journal. To date, everything here is Inception, and it's all Arthur/Eames. If slash is not your cup of tea, I suggest you skip my journal ;) You should also skip anything rated R or NC-17 if you aren't of age where you live!

NOTE: I update this rarely because I suck. Your best bet, if you have exhausted this list, is to check my journal for the most recent stuff. I also recommend looking at the tags, especially for the Pavlov's Bell!verse, which can be awkward to navigate.

I also suck at replying to comments. I try, and I double try if you have a question about the story or anything else, but I do get busy. I'm really sorry, and I assure you each and every comment feeds my soul. <3

I'm slowly uploading my old fics to my new AO3 account, and that can be found here.

Lastly, if you're not sure where to start, my personal favourites/recommendations are Rough Trade, Broken Toy, and the prequel/standalone fifth part of Requiescat. :D

Divided up by verse, my fics are as follows:

BROKEN TOY VERSE

1. Broken Toy, R
Eames is kidnapped and forced into prostitution using his forging abilities. By the time Arthur and Cobb rescue him, he isn't the forger they used to know.
part one, part two.
Also available in podfic form! (Thanks, emilianadarling!)

2. Bad Dream, NC-17
Sometimes, the recovery can be just as hard to cope with as the trauma. Arthur and Eames learn this the hard way. The sequel to Broken Toy.
part one, part two, part three, part four, part five, part six, part seven, part eight, part nine.

3. A Heart to Hold You, R
How Arthur learned to love (and was just a little too late). This is a prequel to the series, but should be read after the other two.

PAVLOV'S BELL VERSE

1. Pavlov's Bell, NC-17
It doesn't surprise Arthur when he hears, eventually, that they've developed a reputation for fighting like cats and dogs-since, in a sense, they are those things. AKA, the verse where catboys and werewolves collide.

2. Pavlov's Bell II, NC-17
“I want everyone to smell me on you,” Eames rumbles softly. “I want everyone who gets close to you to know that you belong to me and that I was fucking you up here just an hour before and making you purr.”

3. All's Fair in Love & Werewolves, NC-17
Arthur is lucky to have Eames. Somebody just as different, someone who understands when he wakes up in the middle of the night feeling like he's all alone in the universe. Eames makes that feeling go away.
Eames, however, is not alone.
part one, part two, part three a | b

4. What Happens in Reno, NC-17
Spoiler alert, it stays in Reno. Backstory coda.

5. Untitled MPreg Thing, NC-17
Arthur is the grumpiest kitty in Paris.

6. The Werekitten Chronicles, PG-13
Mutant bb werewolf kittens. 'Nuff said. Future!fic coda, basically.
one, two, three, three-point-five, four

7. Once More, With Feeling, hard PG-13
On curiosity, and that thing it does to cats. How Arthur finds his family (and almost wishes he hadn't).

NOTE: This verse is ongoing and I suck at updating this list. Always check the tags before you check here. Check the tag anyway, you're sure to find goodies.

REQUIESCAT VERSE

1. Prequel, NC-17
How Neil McCormick became Arthur. [This verse is a crossover with Mysterious Skin, and this part particularly is heavy on the spoilers. NOTE: This fic is actually part five of the main Requiescat story, but works well as a stand-alone background piece and has no bearing on the main storyline.]

2. Requiescat, NC-17
The death of Neil McCormick was gradual, not sudden, and not permanent by any means. In the end, Arthur goes much more quickly.
part one, part two, part three, part four, part five, part six, part seven, part eight.

3. Eyes Wide Shut, R
All he wants is to be wanted. The coda/sequel to Requiescat.

4. Dichotomous Key, NC-17
It starts out innocent enough...

5. Three Stories, PG-13
Three short segments taking place within the Requiescat verse, at different points on the timeline.

6. In Memorium, PG-13 [WIP]
Restless ghosts refuse to stay buried. The (unfinished) sequel to Requiescat.

ROUGH TRADE VERSE (my favourite!)

1. Rough Trade (you are now shooting at your imaginary friend in front of 400 gallons of nitroglycerin), NC-17
Arthur is an investment banker. He is professional and efficient. He's a halfway decent cook. He's totally independent and has been since the age of eighteen. Maybe he's tired all the time because he works about ninety hours a week which is twice what normal people do, but he's rich and he's competent at his job. He's almost thirty, and already a success.
And there are some things Arthur is not. For instance: Arthur is not gay.
part one, part two

Codas (all take place during the main part of the story):
2. The Lock & The Key, R
Once, Eames gave his heart to somebody else, and had been bitterly let down. In moments like this, here, with Arthur, he could almost feel safe.
3. Untitled Coda I, NC-17
They've never done a morning after, before. He's woken up next to Eames, but he always dashes off to work right away. They've never done-this. Coffee and TV in bed.
4. Untitled Coda II, NC-17
It's already been five days since the last time they saw each other. He wants to tell Eames that he got a full night's sleep last night, on his own. Eames will know what an accomplishment it is.

RUNNING PLAY VERSE*
*Here's a brief football primer I wrote to help explain the game in relation to this verse.

1. The Running Play, NC-17
Eames has a spot on the college football team. Arthur has a secret and a seething hatred for jocks. In the end, it's all about who plays the game better.
part one, part two, part three, part four, part five A | B

2. Run to Daylight, NC-17
In a football-dominated world, Arthur and Eames are too worried about everyone else trying to pull them apart to realize that in the end, it might just be themselves who ruin everything.
part one, part two, part three, part four, part five, part six, part seven

3. Two Halves, NC-17
"Without half-time, there would be no occasion to use one of the most enduring clichés to describe football: 'It's a game of two halves.'" Takes place between the events of TRP and Run to Daylight.

4. Cover Me (and I'll Cover You), R
Takes place after Run to Daylight. Just a fluffy coda.

WINGMAN VERSE

1. The Wingman, PG-13
AU. Arthur is a loner recovering from OCD. Eames is the British neighbour whose wingman is his gay dog. Romcom hijinks ensue.

2. OT3, R
Eames' dog is a shameless cockblocker. Arthur cannot stand it.

3. Rainy Days, Mondays, NC-17
They finally get around to the sex ... nothing goes right. Naturally.

4. Noise, PG-13
Arthur, Sam believes, understands what it's like to be a dog, especially when the rainclouds come around and make everything dark. Arthur understands. Sometimes it seems to rain around Arthur even when there isn't a cloud in the sky.

TEMERAIRE VERSE

1. Untitled Temeraire!AU, PG-13 - NC-17
A Regency-era AU about the Napoleonic Wars. Except with dragons.
part one, part two, part three, part four

2. The Mating Game, PG-13
Everyone wants an egg.
part one (of two) [WIP]

LEVERAGE VERSE

1. Leverage, NC-17 Heed Warnings
Arthur is a personal escort hired to take Eames' virginity and make a proper man out of him. He has no idea, when he falls for Eames, that Eames is the son of the man who owns him.
part one, part two, part three, part four, part five, part six a | six b.

2. Lucky, NC-17
There were so many things Arthur could hate Charles for. But he didn't. He was lucky. Takes place during part one of Leverage.

3. The Stockholm Factor, NC-17
A jaunt through the What-If Machine. What if Arthur hadn't run away at the end of part one of Leverage? I ended up liking this more than the subsequent parts of Leverage, but there is a lot of whump in here. Heed the warnings as always, and caveat emptor.

ONESHOTS

Perfection, NC-17
Arthur's never had sex -- he's afraid he'll be terrible in bed and ruin his chances with Eames. Eames sets out to prove him wrong.

The Properties of Ginger, NC-17
Arthur is the meanest boyfriend ever.

Shooting the Moon, R
Arthur is asexual. Eames is ... not. Awkwardly, Arthur attempts to initiate sex anyway. A bedtime story for asexuals.

1. The Sharpest Lives, PG-13
AU. Eames has an abusive boyfriend who thinks Eames is cheating on him -- but he continues to visit Arthur at the supermarket where Arthur works, because seeing him is the highlight of Eames' week.
part one, part two
2. France in the Summertime, NC-17
Follow-up to The Sharpest Lives: Arthur and Eames meet again, six years later.

Short Sad Lives Left, PG-13
Arthur is sacrificed. To science. A Portal crossover.

One for the Money, NC-17
Eames runs a porn studio, and has a very inconvenient crush on their newest bottom. The pornstar AU.

A&E Are Bower Birds, G
Exactly what it says on the tin. This is the fluffiest shit I have ever written.

masterlist, fuck yeah inception
