Being decidedly unproductive

Jul 07, 2007 17:55

I'm having a very lazy day. A *very* lazy day. I was awake about 8am but stayed in bed reading until my sister phoned just before midday. And I'm not planning on doing anything productive at all today. I wanted to, I wanted to make graphics or get this damn SPN Het fic out of my head and onto paper before it eats my brain, but I'm feeling lazy and ( Read more... )

Personally, I am more than happy not to be a BNF...I don;t know how to be that mean.

That's what really gets me, people who should be major players in a fandom because of the work they do (yourself, Shannon, pugita and others) to support that fandom are overlooked by those who throw a strop (not sure if that translates well - basically it's a tantrum) every time they aren't congratulated for being able to dress themselves in the morning.

There's been a bit of fuss about a BNF in one of my fandoms lately, and having seen so many kerfuffles like this in the past (hell, I'm active in the BtVS fandom, of course I've seen these kerfuffles! *g*) I just felt like I should maybe say something before other people get hurt by insensitive BNFs.

I dressed myself this morning!

Well. Sort of.

See if I congratulate you and make you an icon (or something), that might make you a BNF. If you had an F to be a BN for...

I quite like cheese.

Cheese does not a fandom make...

(although various fandoms are jumping up and down in my head saying "I'm Cheesy!"...)

Yeah. Chewie's probably quite cheesy. I mean, it's hard enough getting a dog to take a bath...

Chewie's probably a whole lot cleaner than Han though...

True. Can't imagine there's much room on the Falcon for toiletries. Or toilets, for that matter.

Ew.

Dude, know your fandom. They aren't toilets, they're 'refreshers' or 'freshers' for short... and given that we both work in a Uni and have a different use for the word 'freshers' I think I may have just revolted myself...

They're pretty filthy too, it has to be said. Hence all the disease they spread.

This is very, very true.

Volunteering for the Freshers' Fair this year are you?

D'you think they'd be able to spare me? Since there'll only be three of us minions left by the time FF comes around again, I'm starting to think we'll probably be chained to our desks to prevent us taking time off at all...

(*waves* to kitty_cat89 and smeckles90 who are obviously spotless in all respects...)

Laura seemed keen to get people to volunteer (and trust me, dude, I need all the support I can get on that damn committee - I *nearly* quit the other day but decided to bring it down from the inside).

I say yes, go for it.

And then bitch and moan about how blown up parrots and snakes have bugger all to do with libraries so that even if I can't change things this year, I've got a foundation for change for next year.

Not that I'll be there next year...

*grins*

I...decided to bring it down from the inside.

Take a pin. That should put an end to the inflatables...

And here's to not being there next year! Cheers!
