emeraldswan* Emmy made me fabulous icons - my new default icon and the one from this post - I love them to pieces, thank you honey!
Went present shopping yesterday with Sis and the kids. That was actually a lot of fun and I realise that from the number of times I've bitched about my family that the statement sounds false, but really, it was a lot of fun. Seeing their faces when the mall-employed Santa Claus came up to them and gave them chocolate coins? Priceless! And I now have pressies for two of the three of 'em. I have no clue what I'm getting the youngest. He turns one on the 17th of this month, I have his b-day sorted, but Christmas? No clue - any suggestions gratefully received!
Also, my multi-region DVD player was getting a bit screwed up. There's a problem with the SCART socket and it's messing up the colours on screen so that after a little while everything takes on a metallic pink tone. I've checked it out and it's definitely the socket rather than the cable. The other day
monkey_matt mentioned that Asda had a DVD player for around seventeen quid (since a decent DVD film is usually about twenty quid that's a helluva bargain!). Problem is that I don't shop in Asda for a couple of reasons - first they overheat the shop so that I feel ill within a minute of walking in the door; and second they're owned by WalMart. But the thing is, where one supermarket goes, the others follow - and yup, there's a DVD player in Tesco for £17.87. Which is now in my house, playing multi-region disks. Yay!
And to clarify the *squee* from Friday - Jared Padalecki had signed up to appear at the Asylum convention next May along with some Smallville people who I've no clue who they are. I booked, after a lot little encouragement from
fresleyforever and now it turns out that a new attendee has been added to the books. Jensen Ackles. J2 and I'm going. Small dogs are now wondering what the hell that noise is within a fifty mile radius of my squee.
And JSTOR and my boss can bite me. It was a combination of the two factors, possibly instigated by the Discworld Auditors, that wiped the grin from my face Friday afternoon and *almost* had me walking out the door. It was as close to quitting immediately as I've come lately.
Did some graphics work yesterday, starting to get the hang of selective colouring now I think. I'm understanding it better and the results are well worth the WTF? moments I think. Hopefully I'll get more done today, I owe banners and layouts to a couple of people and my deadline for the
100days100icons claim is the... 17th or 18th. I posted 20ish last night (cross-posted
here at fandomsbitca) and want to get them all done asap now that Photoshop is actually behaving itself. I should probably get to that soon really shouldn't I?
Oh, and Kripke is one sick puppy. But dammit he owns my soul now.

So, you want to make the world a better place? Too bad it's never gonna happen.
Of all the types, you have to be one of the hardest to find fault in. You have a selfless and caring nature. You're a good listener and someone who wants to avoid conflict. You genuinely desire to do good.
Of course, these all add up to an incredibly overpowered conscience which makes you feel guilty and responsible when anything goes wrong. Of course, it MUST be your fault EVERYTIME.
Though you're constantly on a mission to find the truth, you have no use for hard facts and logic, which is a source of great confusion for those of us with brains. Despite this, in a losing argument, you're not above spouting off inaccurate fact after fact in an effort to protect your precious values.
You're most probably a perfectionist, which in this case, is a bad thing. Any group work is destined to fail because of your incredibly high standards.
Disregard what I said before. You're just easy to find fault in as everyone else!
Luckily, you're generally very hard on yourself, meaning I don't need to waste my precious time insulting you. Instead, just find all your own faults and insult yourself.
