ok. here's a list of a few things people should consider attending if at all possible.
1. TOMORROW
SUNN0))) is playing my work. I helped set up this show and am super excited these guys are performing in GR. SUNN has been one of my favorite bands for awhile now and yeah needless to say i am a lot stoked.

2. This weekend
GROWING and
THRONES (aka Joe Preston of Earth, the Melvins, High on Fire, etc) along with
MAMMAL are playing the DAAC. This is my first show I've ever booked at the DAAC and all these bands are really good so hopefully some kids show up. actually i can't attest for MAMMAL because I've never heard, but
George described it as "sheets of white noise" which sounded pretty bitchin to me.

3.Early June
I am part of a group show that opens at ByrneBoehm Gallery on Lake Dr on Friday June 2nd. There was a
write up in the GR press a bit ago. its just one painting but yeah it should be fun. maybe i'll post a picture of the painting later (when i finish it, which needs to be like in the next 2 days).
Also in case some of you forgot, i still book movies at the
UICA and we've got some good ones opening this summer. Most notably, that livejournal folks would probably be interested in at least, are
NIGHTWATCH (June 2nd) and hopefully
THE PROPOSITION (mid July). Nightwatch looks all around awesome and The Proposition is written by Nick Cave and stars that guy from Memento and its supposed to be brutal. So maybe one of those might entice some of you folks that might not have visited your local arthouse theater lately, I'm looking right at you Haines.
Ok that's all i got. i'll stop trying to sell you on shit. you should try an come or not. whatever.
dan
oh yeah and i'm gonna try to get to toronto this summer to see
this and maybe converge on my birthday.
