I would really like it if we as americans could talk about privilege, access, and power more openly...how christianity is an obligation to "liberalism"... and how capitalist systems operate innately on either philanthropy or villainy...

we idolize these images of people, their achievements on a public scale, to the point at which we don't really see them as people. as products of our culture. as driven to achieve set standards as a marker of 'success'

thus the only way to laud our "hero's" is for their essentially superficial external achievements - whether philanthropically or villainously. how much $ did they make/donate? what status did they achieve?
